Welcome to First Methodist Church! We are so glad you are here. Whatever your week has been like, whatever your life has been like, whatever you look like, and whether you believe what we believe or disagree with us, you are welcome in this place in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayer requests can be texted to us at (806) 304-6649, or emailed to prayer@firstmethodist.church.
If this is your first time here, we have a gift for you! Visit the welcome table by the entrance, and a member of our Guest Connections Team will happily assist you.
Our nursery is available for infants to pre-k students. We believe in family worship, so your kids are welcome to stay in the worship service with you. We have a time for children during worship where kids are invited to come forward to hear from our children’s ministry team. If your children are joining you in worship, we offer “wiggle bags” filled with activities for your children to do during worship. Wiggle bags may be found at the back of the worship space by the entrance.
Before Charlie Keys begins his new appointment as pastor of First Methodist Church in Lamesa, we invite you to celebrate him and his family! Our Leadership Board will be hosting a come-and-go farewell reception in the parlor this afternoon. Drinks and desserts will be provided.
All women are invited to come learn about the Methodist Women in Service and hear from Lubbock-born author and speaker, Amy Bearden, this afternoon at 3:00.
Confirmation is a course through which young students learn more about the basic beliefs of Christianity and the history and beliefs of Methodism. Next Sunday in each of our services, we'll receive our newest Confirmands as full members of the church!
The Methodist Women in Service are selling roses through Sunday, May 3. The roses are $5 apiece and may be purchased in honor or memory of a loved one. To place an order, please locate an ordering envelope in one of the pew-back pockets. Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, May 10.
Reviews tell those interested in our church more about our weekly rhythms, what to expect when they walk through our doors, and also let Google and Facebook's systems know that our church is alive and active. If you feel led, we invite you to review us on Facebook and Google to help spread the word about what God is doing in and through First Methodist!
