Welcome to First Methodist Church! We are so glad you are here. Whatever your week has been like, whatever your life has been like, whatever you look like, and whether you believe what we believe or disagree with us, you are welcome in this place in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have a prayer request? Please text prayer requests to us at (806) 304-5905, or email prayer@firstmethodist.church.
If this is your first time here, we have a gift for you! Visit the welcome table in the foyer, and a member of our Guest Connections Team (they’ll be wearing a white name tag) will happily assist you.
Wondering what to do next? We’d love to get to know you more, give you a tour of the building, and answer any questions you have. Join us for our First Steps gathering in the library (across from the sanctuary) any Sunday morning at 9:40.
Our nursery is available for infants to pre-k students on Sunday mornings during Sunday school and worship. We believe in family worship, so your kids are welcome to stay in the worship service with you. We have a time for children during worship where kids are invited to come forward to hear from our children’s ministry team. If your children are joining you in worship, we offer “wiggle bags” filled with activities for your children to do during worship. Wiggle bags may be found in the back of the sanctuary.
Church members will vote on pastors’ salaries, Leadership Board and Nominations Committee nominations, and two ministry candidates.
To place an order, please use an ordering envelope located at one of the welcome areas. Complete the front of the envelope and place your cash or check inside. Envelopes may be dropped in the offering plate or brought to the church office. Plants are $20 each. You may take your poinsettia home with you following worship next Sunday.
If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing loneliness, or if this is simply a difficult season, please join us for our Blue Christmas worship service. This will be a time of healing and hope as we take our grief before the Lord. Childcare will be available for children from birth through preschool.
Your family is invited to worship with us on Christmas Eve in one of several ways:
• Traditional candlelight services at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., sanctuary
• Modern candlelight service at 4:00 p.m., Fellowship Hall
Our new Lead Pastor, Matt Wolfington, will be present at both 4:00 services, and the 4:00 traditional service will be streamed to Facebook and YouTube.
One worship service: Sunday, December 29, at 10:50 a.m. in the sanctuary (no 8:30 service or youth or children’s Sunday school; adult Sunday school optional; childcare available at 9:40)
Deadline for end-of-year financial giving: Donations must be postmarked no later than December 31. If you prefer to hand-deliver your donation, the church office will close at noon on December 31.
